Swimming is an excellent workout since it requires you to move your entire body against the water’s resistance. Swimming is a good all-around sport since it: keeps your heart rate up while reducing impact stress on your body; helps you maintain a healthy weight, heart, and lungs; and increases endurance, muscle strength, and cardiovascular fitness. Muscles are toned and strength is increased, swimming gives you an all-over body workout because it engages nearly all of your muscles and so much more.
